課程概述

公眾參與地理資訊系統（public participation geographic information system, PPGIS）是近年發展的公共事務決策方法與工具，它秉承公眾參與的精神，運用GIS方法與技術，近年逐漸被導入於土地與環境相關議題，例如：環境規劃、自然資源經營管理、原住民傳統領域與傳統知識調查等。
PPGIS的內涵不僅包括GIS的技術課題，更重要的是資訊及技術運用與社群（社會）相互關係的探討（information and society），例如：培力或賦權作用（empowerment）、參與議題（participation issues）、空間認識論（spatial epistemology）等，是目前地理資訊科學（geographic information science）的重要基礎研究課題之一。
本課程將針對PPGIS的基礎議題、技術議題及運作模式進行介紹及探討，並以實際案例為輔助教材，使同學能夠掌握PPGIS的精神及運作方法。 

課程目標
 掌握公眾參與精神，熟悉PPGIS工具與方法，能夠組織PPGIS工作坊 
課程要求
 Lecture +田野 + 演講(guest presentation) +閱讀簡報討論
1. 閱讀簡報內容至少需包含：整篇文章摘要、重點內容、並告知所有參與同學師長該篇文章的重要文句，如果有包括一些 comments 更好；其他同學重點瀏覽參與討論。
2. 田野實作包括參訪見習與現地操演，一個田野個案的執行需要一次規劃、現場田野、與回來的呈現與討論，同學必需在時間與能力上有較多的投入。
